Shields vs Marshall Set for Sept, IN THE UK!

Unified (WBC/WBA/IBF) Middleweight Women's Champ Claressa Shields (12-0, 2KOs) is set to face WBO Middleweight champ Savannah Marshall (12-0, 10KOs) on September 10th at the O2 Arena in the UK. Marshall is the only woman to ever defeat Shields in the amateurs, and as it stands right now... ever. Their rivalry dates back to 2012 when Marshall outpointed Shields at the 2012 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. I must note that while Marshall got the win, she is almost 4 years older than shields and in 2012 shields was 17.

They do share common opponents in Hannah Rankin & Femke Hermans who both went the distance with shields and were both destroyed and KO'd by marshall. That doesn't necessarily mean anything because styles make fights. but was worth noting. Womens' boxing is a bit different their male counterparts. Shields has never fought a woman with the power of marshall, not even remotely close. Hopefully we get fireworks and not a hugfest.
